Privacy policy

In short

This is a static personal website. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking, and loads no third-party scripts or fonts. The only personal data processed is what's technically needed to deliver the pages, and whatever you send me by email.

2. Hosting and delivery

The site is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS): files are stored in Amazon S3 in the EU (Stockholm region) and delivered through the Amazon CloudFront content delivery network. The provider is Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, 38 Avenue John F. Kennedy, L-1855 Luxembourg.

To deliver a page, CloudFront necessarily processes your IP address, the requested URL, the time of the request, and technical details your browser sends (such as user agent and referrer). I have not enabled access logging, so I don't store or see these logs. AWS may process this data for security and operations as described in its privacy notice.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is delivering the website securely and reliably. AWS may process data in the USA; Amazon Web Services, Inc. is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and transfers are also covered by the EU Standard Contractual Clauses in AWS's data processing addendum.

3. Theme preference (local storage)

If you switch between the light and dark theme, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage under the key theme, so the site remembers it on your next visit. It stays on your device and is never sent to me or anyone else. Storing it is necessary to provide the function you asked for (§ 25(2) No. 2 TDDDG). You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

The design-system demo at tokens.ljupchop.dev works the same way: it stores your chosen theme, brand and density in that subdomain's local storage, on your device only.

4. Fonts

Fonts are served from this website itself. No connection to Google Fonts or any other font service is made.

5. Contact by email

Emails to hello@ljupchop.dev are received by Cloudflare Email Routing (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA) and forwarded automatically to my personal mailbox, which is hosted by Google (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Cloudflare processes the message only to forward it and doesn't keep its content. Both providers may process data in the USA; Cloudflare, Inc. and Google LLC are certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

If you email me, I process your email address, your name if you give it, and the content of your message in order to reply. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your message relates to a contract or job, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (my interest in answering you). I delete the correspondence when it's no longer needed, unless legal retention periods apply.

6. Links to other websites

This site links to external sites such as GitHub, LinkedIn and live project demos. No data is sent to them until you click a link. From then on, the privacy policy of that site applies.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

• access the personal data I hold about you (Art. 15)
• have it corrected (Art. 16) or erased (Art. 17)
• restrict its processing (Art. 18)
• data portability (Art. 20)
• object to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21)

You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). For Berlin, that's the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit.
